Başak Merev:
Başak Merev is a Turkish pianist, singer, and performer.
She grew up with traditional folk music and started from the age of 5 with a classical piano education. She came to Germany for her bachelor’s degree and studied at Folkwang University, where she later on completed her master’s degree in professional piano performance.
She likes to go back to her roots through her projects, like with Uykusuz Anılar (Sleepless Memories), a conceptual concert project with Turkish love songs. Other recent projects include FremdFreund, a multidisciplinary piece with voice and movement, and
Von einer Küste zu Anderen, focusing on folk songs in the Turkish and Greek language.
AmirReza:
AmirReza is a sound artist and composer based in Cologne. His work explores the boundaries between sound, atmosphere, and emotion. blending elements of ambient, electronic, and experimental music. His compositions invite listeners into an immersive soundscape.
@dings.ev and @cevizkollektiv are inviting you to the next round of „soundscapes“. At the 17th of October we’ll present you the „Duo Musayyebi & Heuser“ and „Rezvan & Band“.
Duo Musayyebi & Heuser
Kioomars Musayyebi and Andreas Heuser – both members of the Ruhr-area world music big band Transorient Orchestra – meet musically halfway between Orient and Occident, where their instruments engage in diverse dialogues with one another.
They perform oriental traditionals in new arrangements as well as original compositions, in which musical influences from East and West merge together.
Both possess a profound musical education and many years of experience in a wide range of musical settings; they are virtuosic instrumentalists and individual composers.
With imagination, they explore the numerous tonal and rhythmic possibilities of their instruments, blending the sounds of the 72-string Persian santur, various guitars, and the violin into multifaceted soundscapes: rhythmic, dynamic, lyrical, and meditative.
Andreas Heuser studied classical guitar, jazz guitar, and violin at the State University of Music in Detmold, Dortmund Institute.
Rezvan & Band:
Rezvan is deeply passionate about singing. For the past two years, she has been training professionally, and this performance marks her very first time on stage. She sings in traditional, pop, and fusion styles.
What brings her here today is a dream she has carried for many years—the dream of singing freely. In her country, women are not allowed to sing publicly, but today she has the chance to raise her voice.
She hopes her singing creates a beautiful feeling within the audience, and she looks forward to the day when all women around the world can follow their dreams without restrictions.
She’ll be joined by the pianist @e_.hosseinzadeh and the musician @sargmusic
